about La Jolla LASIK, as well as how to get it.

What is La Jolla LASIK?

LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, a surgical procedure that
corrects vision problems by way of remodeling the cornea. The cornea is the
transparent covering in the human eye that acts like a lens, and if there exist
deformities in the cornea, our vision essentially goes bad. This happens to a lot
of people in the world.

La Jolla LASIK works like so: first the surgeon makes a small flap on the outermost
layer of the cornea by making small incisions. This flap is then lifted and folded
back to reveal the tissue underneath. This tissue is ‘remodeled’ by lasers,
removing imperfections and deformities. The flap is then placed back and left to
heal like a bandage. And that is La Jolla LASIK for you!

Is La Jolla LASIK painful?

Of course not! Remember that LASIK is still a surgical process. Not only are you
going to be properly anesthetized during the entire ordeal the lasers going to be
used during the flap creation and remodeling are very weak and very precise. In fact,
the only thing that you might find uncomfortable about it is the lifting of the flap.
So don’t worry about pain, look forward to your improved vision!
